Drs. Joseph and Cathy Banks are visionary leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and global ministers dedicated to faith, education, and community empowerment. Together, they founded Living Word Christian Center in Lake Charles, Louisiana, along with multiple churches, Christian schools, and outreach centers across the United States, Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, and Mexico.
Bishop Joseph L. Banks, a former educator and UPS professional, was called to ministry in 1995 and consecrated as Bishop in 2019. He holds degrees in Secondary Education, Theology, and Divinity, and is the founder of The Word Ministerial Alliance and a Life Christian University extension campus. His leadership extends beyond the pulpit—serving on the Mayor’s Advisory Board, the Executive Board of the Alliance for Positive Growth, and overseeing international missions and development projects.
Dr. Cathy S. Banks is an author, recording artist, life coach, and CEO of Liberty Plaza Properties. She holds advanced degrees in Theology, Pastoral Studies, and Counseling, and has founded several 501(c)(3) organizations focused on women’s empowerment and community advancement. Her leadership was honored by the Vice President of Liberia with a school named in her honor.
United in purpose for over 30 years, Drs. Joseph and Cathy Banks are passionate about transforming lives through faith, education, and entrepreneurship. They are proud parents of their son, Kirkland Joseph Banks, who is a professional baseball Player.
